how do they determine which coaches get to vote? is it based on team performance the prior season?
| First year in the Horizon League and we went to the semifinals. I do believe that's a pretty good showing. |

Not sure. I would have guessed it's fairly arbitrary within each conference, but I'm not sure.
Looks like 31 voters and 23 conferences. So, maybe one for every conference, and a second for eight of them?
Going from memory: MVC (Wichita State, Bradley) Summit (Oral Roberts) MAC (Central Michigan, Western Michigan) WCC (St. Mary's) Horizon (Butler, UWGB)

I should post this before it turns over. Maybe I missed one already?
The biggest surprise I've had so far is how far Wright State fell for losing to Washington. These voters like the undefeated record...

Detroit makes a big move! Not sure what's all that impressive about defeating Robert Morris, Albany, and Alcorn State (!). But, good to see Detroit winning some games. And, watching them play Cal, they do look pretty tough this year.
Other teams have started to pick up losses, and I continue think Wright State was punished unfairly for losing to Washington. Beating Northeastern would help their cause.

May as well keep track of the Bulldogs too (though ESPN does archive this information):
Week AP/ESPN-USA Today Pre 11/10 1 11/10 2 12/10
This weekend obviously has huge implications for Butler. For their ranking and for their NCAA tournament seeding.
They'll play some other good teams later (Georgetown, Ohio State, Xavier, Alabama), but wins against Minnesota and Clemson or West Virginia - on ESPN - would be huge. Butler's not done well against the top 25 over the years, despite their national ranking.
(Yes, yes - I know they've already played Minnesota. But I haven't watched the game yet. Don't spoil it!)
(They'll have to beat Portland or UCLA too; not sure which is the bigger win there. The Pac10 doesn't look so hot this year.)
