I've heard some rumors that the school has designed a new "V" logo.
Anyone seen/heard anything?

Yep. All us students got an email on Monday with all the logos. It will be reviled to the public on Aug. 20. Here is the school's new logo. Here is the athletics new logo.

So the top set is the school logos and the bottom is Athletics?
If so, weird that the school logos have "Crusaders" in them and none of the Athletics ones do.
Thanks for posting them!

Got back from East Coast trip on Monday and already had some stuff from VU showing off the new logos.

I'm not a big fan of the new athletic logo. For all the hoopla that's been stirred up over having the "Crusader" as a mascot, it seems like they created a logo that reinforces the image of a warrior type person.
IMO, this is the first step in changing the name. Probably to the "Valiants" or something. As far as having "Crusader" in the school logo, the logo is set up where you could delete "Crusader" and replace it with something else.

I honestly don't have any issue with the new athletics logo. It doesn't look like Marvin the Martian now, or ridiculously cartoonish. In terms of the whining about the mascot name, "Crusaders" is what we are, and always will be. We crusade for Christ because we want people to know about Him, and what God has done to free us from the cruels of evil. I don't believe that Crusaders were that bad, and the logos give a tougher demeanor that what the cartoonish logo of the previous years gave us.

How do you guys know what the new logo looks like? I see nothing on this board showing it. I like the Crusader name -- but keep in mind Wheaton College was also named the Crusaders. I say "was" since they are now known as the Thunder. Seems some people objected to the "Crusader" name and the administration changed it. Years ago Wheaton and VU played for the Crusader Shield in football. Wish I knew who had that shield now -- it was kinda cool, I'd buy it if I could. Competitive series, too. Not sure why we don't schedule teams like that anymore. Wheaton is good in football (national runners up in DIII a couple years ago) and it would be good exposure for us in the Chicago area. Paul

I didn't mean to imply that I was against the Crusader as a mascot. In fact, I'll be pretty upset if they do change the name.
Unfortunately, I just get the feeling that a new name is coming.

Let's just say there was a very big reason that the university decided to hire a new VP of Marketing and create the new Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) Department. Aug 20 should answer most questions.

Will the new logo replace the "sissy" Crusader on the new basdketball floor? Sure hope so.
