Crusader Club? « Thread Started on Oct 20, 2009, 8:25pm »
Heard there is not going to be a Crusader Club this year - or there will be significant changes. I can say that I always enjoyed the pregame and halftime activities in Hilltop - I though it brought together many who were able to share time together that would not have otherwise - I know that was the case for me. So, what changes will there be regarding the Crusader Club and what are you doing to bring more of a "Game Day" (prime time) atmosphere to the Arc for both men and women? And, what plans are there to get students more involved in Basketball (men and women) and Volleyball at the ARC?

Charlie,
I don't have all the answers for you, but here is what I do know.
You are correct, it is no longer called Crusader Club. I believe it will continue on as the Hilltop Club. In years past, the softball team aided Jackie and provided workers to run the pre-game and halftime food/drinks. It's my understanding that the softball team will continue to operate the Club in much of the same manner it was run before.
I received an email yesterday from my daughter, Whitney, and she mentions some of the preparation going into getting the Club up and running. "Just got done with a good meeting with Coach about Hilltop club. I've talked to a Pepsi rep and our Family Express guy today... I pretty much feel like I am working a job in the real world. I am getting ready to make a worker's schedule for all the games. "
Jackie did a great job and I'm sure you'll noticed the change, but hopefully the kids will get comfortable with the responsibility and provide the same great service for b-ball fans.

Prior to this year, in order to sit in the chairback seats, you had to be a member of the Crusader Club. CC members got other perks, based upon how much they contributed ( parking passes, news letters, etc). Basic membership got you admission to the Crusader Club room, where they served "hors'dourves" , soft drinks & coffee prior to basketball games, and drinks at the half. This year, in an effort to sell more chairback season tickets, the CC requirement is dropped. Now there is the Hilltop Club with the following ammenities : Gold Lot Parking Tag - $100 - ARC Lot Parking Tag - $250 - Hilltop Club Hospitality Pass - $25 - The Hilltop Club takes the place of the former Crusader Club, offering complimentary sodas, coffee, and snacks before games and during halftime in the historic Hilltop Gymnasium. There is also the Crusader Fund for those who want to support the Athletic Teams monetarily.
