Since 1985, which seeded team from 7 through 12 has made it to the sweet sixteen the least times?

#9, they have been there only four times, each time having defeated a #1 to do so.
#13 has also been there just 4 times, three by beating a #5, and once by beating a #12.

Another interesting fact: of the four times that a #15 has beaten a #2, three of them have featured 10/15 matchups, but only on had the favored #7 beat the 10.

Without that and without Maryland still playing, I've lost almost all interest.

Even so, this year's Sweet Sixteen was tons more exciting and enjoyable than last year's. with the exception of the tigers-tigers, winner-gets-uconn game, i'll agree with that. i thoroughly enjoyed mizzou's run last year. i was quite impressed (though not really surprised) by uni's ability to hang with michigan state. with the exception of baylor beating down st. mary's, the mid-majors looked good in the sweet 16.
