Way to go. Hopefully we'll meet Butler in the finals. Go Valpo! On another note,Pulitzer Prize winning author Taylor Branch thinks he is related to Taylor Root. They both must come from the same family tree. I think I'm going to 'Leaf' that one alone...otherwise I'll start using the other jokes in the 'Palm' of my hand.

And it will be Valpo vs Butler, of course. I'm concerned that we will lose just because we seem to have trouble beating Butler even when we're better than them. Like a mental block, or something. At least we made it to the finals!

Of course we hadn't beaten Milwaukee either and beat them like a drum is game one. I like our chances. Would be a great way to win our first conference touney title and, an NCAA bid!!

At least we made it to the finals! Brilliant revelation! And why do you think that Butler athletes seem to be able to better Valpo athletes in a sport that Valpo athletes have tended to be more successful in during the seasonal play? I realize that Butler finished 2nd in conference play compared to Valpo in 4th. But if Valpo beats Butler twice then Valpo finishes 1 game ahead of Butler in the standings.

A tough loss. Butler just played better today. Good luck to them. We have a young team and good talent coming in. Expect a rematch next year!

Damn, Hope I didn't jinx the Vb team with my forecast. Butler sure has our #. Maybe next year.

kinda sad. I honestly thought the VBall team was our chance to get either a conference championship or c-tourney championship. They are probably the most consistently good team currently at VU, and have some of the highest integrity out of any of the athletes, from what I see on campus and in the classroom. Proud of them getting to the championship.

I went to more volleyball games this year than ever before, and they're really exciting! I wish I had gone to more during my undergrad years. i wonder what the final HL attendance figures came out to, because I'm pretty sure we came out close to the top!

I mean this sincerely. I'm sure the student athletes appreciated you athletics supporters more than you would imagine.

This year's volleyball team continues to make headlines:
VU'S ROOT EARNS ALL-REGION HONOR: Valparaiso University sophomore libero Taylor Root was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's All-Midwest Region team following her record-breaking 2010 campaign. Junior setter Jenny Pokorny earned honorable mention. Root set single-season program and Horizon League records with 754 digs. Her average of 5.94 digs per set leads all of NCAA Division I volleyball. She's poised to become the first individual national statistical leader in program history. She is now eligible for All-America honors, which will be announced Dec. 15. Pokorny led the league with 10.48 assists per set, helping the Crusaders take the league's top team spot in both kills and assists per set.
