Did not attend the game last night, as I am still hung over from the loss to Toledo...were the Big Dutchman and Cory used together at anytime? If Witt can contribute some solid minutes, that gives a great option to go big without having to conserve big man fouls. lowposter

i'm glad to read good things about this game. i was hoping to get home in time to watch, but packing my car proved painful and after the 6 hour drive i didn't get home until late. hopefully this buoys us into the tourney at oakland.

Wait, so there's no calling for Homer and the staff's ouster after this one? This time they beat the clearly inferior team.

One of those wins being against a UIC team that clearly was inferior to Illinois yesterday. They had a bad showing against Toledo. That happens when the previous game was as big as purdue. This valpo team is as exciting as I've seen in years. They give more effort on the defensive end now than the last couple and they seem to have a good mix. I like this team.

I thought they may have finally figured out that opportunity. This would help their rebounding and create some mis-matches on the offensive end having kevin at the 5 and cory outside a little more at the 4 ...especially with last nights team. But then cory got a foul and went to the bench. Good to see Harris hit a couple treys. But then he forgot he was a point guard and jacked a contested mid-range shot without a pass the very next play. Baby steps...

“It’s an embarrassment,” Fife said. “We weren’t ready. We weren’t ready in shoot-around. We weren’t ready in pre-game meal. We have a bunch of guys screwing around. We’re going to take some necessary steps to prevent that from ever happening again.” You would never hear Coach Drew talk about his beloved team that way ever. I'm not condemning the way Homer goes about coaching but if you compare it to the Coach Knight inspired Coach Fife they are worlds apart. It comes across as Coach Drew doesn't care as much about whether his team repeats the mistakes of the past. While Coach Fife, inspired by Coach Knight, points out all the weaknesses with embarrassing crudeness so the mistakes WILL never be repeated in the near future and most likely the rest of the season.

I take issue with your statements. Homer does point out individual mistakes and gets in the face of players, but normally just in practice away from the fans. He would be very hesitant to embarrass his team or a player in public

Did anyone try the WAKE streaming feed for this game?
I'm not 100% sure what it was doing _during_ the game. But, it was unavailable an hour or two before tip-off.
I hope they do better tonight, when it will be WAKE-only (for the Valpo commentary, at least)!

The best part about this game was that Corey did not take any 3 pointers. I hope that was by design. He is the last player that we need out on the perimeter. Also, it is nice to see VU taking out teams that in the past they would have allowed to stick around.
