I'm going to say it now. Valpo will win their next 2 conference road games. They will beat Milwaukee by outlasting them on the offensive end. Crusaders by 4 points. (Homer will get Buggs out of the game at the end). We will beat Green Bay by 10. Having Wood & Harris will help a lot against Green Bay.

Well I hope your wrong on the Milwaukee part but if you do come in and sweep Wisconsin you will definitely have earned the conference title!
Milwaukee needs this win to try to get into the top 2!

If you beat us here on Wednesday, you earned the conference championship.
That said, I got nine guys wearing black and gold that have something to say about that.
By the way, I don't know if you guys have black alternates, please don't wear them. We're tired of teams coming into the Cell and wearing their black uniforms because our school colors are black and gold.

We're tired of teams coming into the Cell and wearing their black uniforms because our school colors are black and gold. We had black alternative jerseys a couple of seasons back, but I think the University is trying to get the athletic teams to stay true to the university colors, and not just go with something that looks marketing "cool". If anything, we'll probably go with the traditional yellow roads, or break out the grays from Purdue?

Anything but the grays. We've worn them twice, without any luck. Purdue and...ugh, Toledo.

And they will have huge payback on their mind to boot.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't there a large(?) contingent of Valpo students making a bus trip up to Milwaukee for the game? That could really help because "The Cell" is usually quite dead and a group of Valpo students could really make themselves heard.

There is a group of students making the trip up. Pretty sure the athletic department is sponsoring it. Its $15 for the bus ride and the ticket, not bad. I wouldn't be surprised if about 30-50 students make the trip, or even more.
I did this when it was offered our first year in the Horizon, and it was a good experience. "The Cell" was a pretty odd environment, at least compared to the ARC, and it was interesting being loud and obnoxious in that win. I think the fans that do decide to make the game their priority Wednesday will be loud and very supportive at the "usually quite dead" Cell.

The game is also Senior Night for the Panthers, so that might give Hill and Boyle a little extra incentive. If we don't bring our "A" game we'll get blown out. Just like Butler.

"The Cell is usually quite dead."
This will be a whole different animal than what's greeted Valpo in the past.
It's Senior Night, the team is playing exceeding well -- especially on the defensive end -- and there's a conference championship at stake (though I believe the Crusaders will win that whether they win or lose, given their season-ending schedule).
I would be very surprised if there aren't nearly 5,000 people on hand ... and they will be a rowdy lot at that. The old barn can actually get quite loud.
Unless something totally unforeseen happens to Valpo the rest of the way, I believe that the Crusaders already have an NIT-worthy resume, along with Cleveland State and Butler.

John Templin over at ChicagoNow.com has been listing 2 HL teams in his NIT bracketology lately, and right now, according to the usual convention, I believe it is CSU and Butler. WSU was one of the last 4 out.

I have a conference in Madison on Thursday with hotel reservations for Wed. night. I'm thinking of going to the game and then driving over to Madison. Is that doable without making for too late of an evening?

It's about an hour and a half drive -- it's doable.

Four years ago, there was more Valpo students than UWM students at the game.... and aside from that, the only UWM students that were there were from the pep band. Not exactly the rowdiest bunch. That's what you get for playing at an arena four miles away. Nonetheless, it's a commuter school, so school pride is fairly low anyways. When you're drawing 4,027 for a game against Butler in a school with 30,000 people, you know you don't have top support for your team.
People complained about the ARC being at 80% capacity the last game. How'd you like it if your team constantly was at 25% capacity?

Traffic will be a breeze by the time the game ends, Milwaukee downtown is easy to get out of and hit the freeway, depending on where you're going in Madison and how you drive you could be there in 1:15. I was supposed to go to the game with some folks who just canceled due to other plans. Probably just be me and the gf now....
