Not ready for the basketball season to end just yet? Neither are we! Stay tuned for an announcement over the coming days regarding Valpo's next game. Also, mark your calendars for a potential home game at the ARC next week! More information to come...

I understand the value of a marketing teaser, but this is a bit confusing...
By teasing with a potential home game next week you would need to either assume Valpo is seeded in the top half of the NIT (which does not seem likely) or that they may have already accepted (and paid for?) a bid to the CBI or CIT. In the latter scenario, that would require Valpo assuming they will not get into the NIT.
Of course...this could just be soem good marketing communucations to keep interest up. I respect that and like the work that "valpomarketingguy" has done this season.

There's a third option you haven't identified yet.

Let's see...
1) Home NIT team (top half), already mentioned...
2) Home CBI/CIT team, already mentioned...
3) Road NIT team, but we are a #5/6, so if we win there's a possibility we host the #7/8 in the second round (hence, the "possibility" of a home game next week). OR, road CBI/CIT team, but would "possibly" host a game if we win.
4) We've added another game, a la St. Mary's (CA) - though I think our schedule was full, but didn't look - but this doesn't make much sense because "next week" would be tournament week.

We're going to get an at-large into the Big Dance and host a play-in game? Come on and give us a hint, marketingguy!

By saying "potential" home game makes me believe they have been offered a spot in the CBI/CIT but won't make it official because the NIT is still possible.

The potential for a lower-seeded team to host in the NIT is there, if the higher-seeded team is unable. For instance, Illinois at Stony Brook.

I guess the only third option I could have missed is "hosting in the NIT as a lower seed" (that would be really nice). Besides that and the other comments, the only other possibility would be Valpo and other schools creating their own tournament like Loyola and other schools did one year back in the 80s (the Cinderella Classic!)

Whatever came from that ESPN radio crew wanting a game?

Whatever came from that ESPN radio crew wanting a game? Waddle and Silvy (Tom Waddle and Mark Silverman) dropped the ball on that game with Valpo. They considering trying to put it together again, but it was supposed to be a charity game between a group the radio show put together against former Valpo basketball players.

Not surprising, those two drop the ball daily in their ratings battle against The Score's Danny Mac show.
