Now that VU is part of the Horizon League, will VU be adding Men's and Women's golf? It seems that we have teams in all the HL sports except golf.

This is something we may look at in the future, but there are currently no plans to add any new programs.

Thanks for your response, ML. Just got back from Indy and was very prowd to be VU fan at the HL tournament. The team and the fans represented the VU community very well.

I heartily second that emotion, ml.
The team really showed a lot of heart last night. Here's to this not being the last game for the Seniors.

I hope that with FITT, move to Horizon, the recruiting success of other programs, that VU golf is looked at sooner in the future, rather than later. I'm sure walking around campus there are a few students who could play at the division I level, at least competively with our former conference.

I too ,would love to see Valpo add golf , but I wouldn't count on it. They are so far behind most d-1 schools from a facility standpoint thats probably the last thin they'd do.

Facility improvements are funded differently than changes to the Athletics operating budget. Facility improvements are funded by gifts made to those projects. Many of these gifts are one time donations. We would establish a campaign, like FITT or the Hilltop renovation, to address each need. Increases in the operating budget for running programs would be based on our ability to add resources on an ongoing basis.
