Wow, they really don't lose much at home. Only Butler last year. In 2008-09, in the league, only Butler. In 2007-08, in the league, only CSU and Valpo. Since Brownell/Donlon have been at WSU we have only loss a total of 9 home games total in their combined now 5th year. Against league teams at home in the same time span we are 38-4 counting HL tourney games. So we don't lose many games in the friendly confines of the Nutter Center. Also Roadtrip is off by 1, we have won 14 home games in a row dating back to last year, and that puts us tied for 13th for the longest active home winning streak in the country. (Number one is Kansas at like 68 games followed by Duke at 29 games). So far this year in D1 games at home our average margin of victory is 13.8 pts/game, but I think Valpo (RPI 58) is better than the other teams we have played to date at home. as the average RPI of the teams we have played at home is 157. Should be a good game in a great atmosphere at the Nutter Center. Hope anyone traveling over has a safe trip.

WSU is 4.5 point favorites. The good news is we've covered 5 and won 6 of our last 7 games since the Toledo debacle.

I love a story that is completely about DEFENSE. If this team ever figures out how to make free throws at the end of games it might even make the NCAA tourney again. Wouldn't that be something.

We ended theirs at 16 games. Good luck tonight! Should be a great game.

I believe I heard that 1500 student tickets have already been given out for the game tonight.

I believe I heard that 1500 student tickets have already been given out for the game tonight. Lots of students, lots of adults, the whole black-out thing - basketball atmosphere at its finest! Wish I could be there...

For some reason I find myself picturing a good old fashioned barn burner similar to the season opener at the Nutt House in Dec. 2007 (with the same final result, of course!).

Clearly the atmoshere will be electric tonight and this is where our experience playing in games at places like Kansas, and Oakland for that matter, will help. Hopefully they will be too hyped. With both teas having loads of experience I agree with stlvufan that it should be a barnburner. If we can hang on tonight we will get a Detroit team with "Butler hangover". To win both would really put us in the drivers seat toward a top 2 finish. I think that may be dreaming and would be OK with a split.

I had to work late and didn't get to see or listen to the 1st half. Looking at the stats, I see that WSU is shooting 68%. Hopefully, they'll cool off. If not, we won't win this game (or any game where the opponent shoots like that). Were they unconscious, or were we giving away easy shots?

Valpo played probably their most complete game of the season. Sure, we were down by 7 at half but WSU was shooting 68%. The domination in the 2nd was impressive and Bwood isTHE MAN!! 26 pts!!
Come on guys, the bandwagon has a few more seats!!

Damn impressive. Just damn impressive. No wilting down the stretch this time. Matt Kenney is back, and how. BWood's alpha dog routine continues to work for us.
Much better defense in the 2nd half. The first half was not very good.
