In another thread, a poster asked some questions to alumnus that gave me this idea. In this thread, introduce yourself. Tell of your affiliation to Valpo, where you live, what you do, whatever! I decided to attend Valpo after looking into their Meteorology program and I graduated in '04 with a degree in meteorology and a minor in math. I am from Maryland, and returned to the state after graduation and accepted a job with the National Weather Service. I live with my wife, also a Valpo grad, who I married in July (07/07/07). In addition to Valpo, I cheer for Navy football, Maryland basketball, the Ravens and the Orioles.

Many already know me....but a short background...grew up in Lafayette, in...attended Purdue...started in radio in 1971 in Vincennses, In as night time DJ....was managinge WAKE here in Valpo when decided to start my own sports marketing business. Did VU and VHS games on cable TV until a combination of Comcast raising the prices out of my reach and the university taking over their own marketing of games put me in effect out of business. Now work for a sporting good store, do the play by play of the VU games on Lakeshore Public TV and am Executive Producer for the VU Radio Network and am the PA Announcer for women's basketball......love the Bears, Dodgers, Purdue, the Crusaders and could care less about the NBA.....took over the VU message board when crusaderboy disbanded the original and moderated the voy.com board for several years, until decided it was time to let someone else take care of it......Love the give and take as long as it's not personal....or X-rated...looking forward to the Horizon League

I decided to attend Valpo because of its academic reputation, and that I could still play Division 1 baseball at a school, even after my arm surgery the summer before my FR year at VU.
I started at VU in the 1999-2000 school year, and graduated in 2004 (5 years of school since I was medically red-shirted my first year). I received a BS in Psychology, with a minor in Business Administration. I currently work for Check Point Software Technologies, Inc (worldwide leader in Internet security software, inventor of firewall) as an HR Partner. I am also attending Texas Christian University (TCU) towards my MBA, which I will achieve in 2010 (6 credits per semester for working professionals).
Unfortunately, I am recently divorced from someone that also went to VU, but it was a civil process, so no complaints there. Just the "growing apart" type thing that leads to our country's 50% divorce rate.
I live in Grapevine, TX, which is 15 minutes outside of Fort Worth, and 20 minutes outside of Dallas (suburbs). I cheer for all local professional teams, except the Cowboys: Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, FC Dallas, & Dallas Mavericks. My football team is the Denver Broncos, since I lived there twice in my childhood.

I'm a lifelong resident of the Chicago metro area who transferred to Valpo after 3 semesters at a small Christian college. Once I decided what I wanted to major in, which was business administration with a concentration in marketing, I began to look at other schools, and decided Valpo was a "big" school , at least for me it was in comparing it to where I was transferring from, with the right program for me. I graduated in '75, and met some wonderful people associated with VU while I was a student. I love to follow college sports, with college basketball being my favorite. After the Crusaders, my favorite team would be the University of Illinois. As far as pro sports go, I'm a big Bulls fan, Bears fan, and White Sox fan. I've followed progress at the university and Crusader sports specifically from a distance for years, especially so the last 10-15 years. I've been a Crusader Club member and season ticket holder for 6-7 years now, and attend as many games as I can get to, depending on my work schedule and our wonderful winter weather.
