Obviously there is no committment on anyones part, but I am considering restarting the Brown and Gold Sports Digest. There would be a couple of changes, significant changes, from what we had before. First, we would not cover games as much as before, but would capcilate them...instead we would spend much more time on coaches comments, interviews, recruiting and such things as that. I have noticed that most Division I schools have a paper like this that is published on a regular basis, and I think we should have one too. The question is, would you be interested in to subscribing to such a paper and if so, what would you want to see in it? The other thing I am considering is video. We obviously can't do the games anymore, since the university does them themselves on the Horizon League website, but we could do coaches interviews, player capsules, a regular coaches show..etc at valposports.com. The question is would you be willing to subscribe to such services and would you be interested in such things? Please let me know your thoughts......

RLH - Would you happen to have an on-line version of the old Brown and Gold Sports Digest or something you could place on-line? For those not familiar with what was, it would be hard to express an opinion about restarting it.

As an out of towner I'd be interested in the coaches shows. I'd also be interested in recruiting info. We get some here from time to time and some of us subscribe to recruiting sites. Nonetheless I presume you'd be getting infor from the "horses mouth" and as such would be of much more value.
Sure, count me in.

I would be very interested in something like this that covered all the sports & not just in season. Maybe have a section where you catchup with each coach every month on workouts , recruiting , be more detailed than our athletic site. Possible to even profile 3-4 athletes a month. No matter , count me in. Justafan

I'd be interested in this too, if you couldn't do the video of coaches talking about their teams, maybe doing podcasts thru iTunes or the Valposports.com website instead. I would be careful with the recruiting, but knowing what rlh knows about recruiting rules, he'll know what we can and can't know in print or other media. I would definitely like to see or hear what the other sports are doing, and not have to worry about if the "IT" department could do he work we want from them.

Dick, I'm a journalist and former long-time sportswriter. I would absolutely LOVE to be a part of this. If you need someone dedicated to write copy for this paper, count me in ... please!

Obviously there is no committment on anyones part, but I am considering restarting the Brown and Gold Sports Digest. I wondered why I received BREAKING NEWS that Oppland was named Mid-Con Co-Player of the Week. ;D I'd be interested in it, preferably the on-line videos.

I'd be particularly interested in the "behind the scenes" stuff such as recruiting updates.

By the by, as I returned to the Porter County library with my laptop (They have free Wifi now, yipeee!!!) to finish up my blogging, guess who I spotted in the rest room?
Hint: he's in my avatar currently. Local celebrity. Gosh, I'm practically giving it away...
