When I logged on to the forum today, I saw an ad for the movie "The God Who Wasn't There". This is a movie that questions the existence of Jesus as a historical figure. That sure seems to be an odd fit for a forum dedicated to athletics at a Christian university. Do you Administrators have any control over the banner ads? I'm not trying to be critical. I love the forum and appreciate all of the effort that you put into it. I was just wondering.

I can answer that. The answer is NO. Proboards has control of the ads on this and all their other forums. At least that's the way it was on the voy.com board, and I'm sure is the same here

rlh is correct. When I created this board there were no ads. They added them and we have no control over them. The only thing we could do is pay "credits" that would keep this forum ad free. To me its not worth it. The ads are usually content related, although sometimes I do agree that they are a bit off. If there is overwhelming support for paying for an ad free board, we could make it happen.

Thanks. I figured as much, but just thought I'd ask.

You could always switch browsers and download firefox. Then once you download it look at the firefox add-ons and get Add Block Plus.
It blocks almost all adds but occasionally it will block something that is a main part of a website from appearing, then all you do it click on the ABP Stop sign in your toolbar and turn it off for that website and refresh the page.

Got to love those Firefox extensions! I was not aware of that one but will have to try it out. Thanks!
