Sure thing, good luck with your new board. I have read the Valpo Brown and Gold Sports board, but have not been able to figure out how to post on it. I guess I don't understand how the "post password" works. I understand the need to protect the forum from what we call "drive by posters" (we used to allow guests to post on our SDSU board but ran into some of the same problems that they have had on Brown and Gold) but the instructions to get a "post password" are not on the site (or maybe they are and I am just dumb ). I will say this format looks much better and is more user friendly then they Voy boards. Hope you get more members. I think if they gave it a try they would like it. Again best of luck. P.S. I like your new avatar.

SDSU is in the middle of a scoreboard project and I thought I would share this pic. it helps lend some perspective. The old scoreboard is there in front of the supports for the new one. Here are some highlights and a link to a story from the Sioux Falls Argus Leader about the new scoreboards (you can also see an artist's rendering of the finished product): www.argusleader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050723/SPORTS0202/507230346/1002/SPORTSNew scoreboards, video screens will be installed at Coughlin, FrostChris Solari csolari@argusleader.com Published: 07/23/05 BROOKINGS - South Dakota State fans and athletes will get a whole new experience this fall when they attend home games at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium and Frost Arena. SDSU began work early this week on preparing Coughlin, the football stadium, for a new state-of-the-art scoreboard, with the goal to have the system up and running when the Jacks open the 2005 season on Sept. 3. A similar project will follow at Frost with plans to finish there for the basketball openers in November. The total price tag for both projects is nearly $3 million. . . . Coughlin-Alumni's 40-yard wide-by-56-feet high scoreboard will house a 17-by-28 feet video board that can be used for in-game broadcasts, replays and advertising. It will be counted on to bring a new atmosphere and energy to the 43-year-old stadium. . . . (read more)

That's amazing, especially seeing the existing one. Valpo needs something like that!

Here are highlights from a Gary Post-Trib. story about this weekend's game: www.post-trib.com/cgi-bin/pto-story/sports/z1/09-08-05_z1_spor_11.htmlCrusaders step up in class against South Dakota State Sept. 8, 2005 VALPARAISO — The test gets tougher this week for Valparaiso. The Crusaders’ 17-3 victory Saturday over Wisconsin Lutheran was a nice way for first-year coach Stacy Adams to get his feet wet. “It was good for us to go out and get that first victory,” Adams said. “Wisconsin Lutheran is a much better team than last year. They had eight guys returning on defense.” Valpo’s game against South Dakota State should be considerably more difficult. Last year, the Crusaders lost to North Dakota State 52-0 and SDS beat North Dakota State 24-21. Last week, SDS beat the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse 42-13. Adams knows getting a win this week will be a challenge. “They’re a highly talented team,” he said. “They’re the strongest and fastest team we’ll see all year. We have something to prove because they beat North Dakota State last year and North Dakota beat us badly.” . . . Adams expects his team to run the ball consistently all season. Ryan Doerffler threw only eight passes, completing five of them with one interception. “We could’ve easily thrown the ball more,” Adams said. “But we wanted to work on our running game. “That should be our strong suit this year.” If Valpo is going to have any success, it’s going to have to contain South Dakota State’s running game. SDS rushed for 357 yards last week against LaCrosse, with Anthony Watson picking up 183 of those yards. The Jacks also passed for 148 yards.
