You're going to take control of the new Off-Topic board. Well, you'll at least have one here that appreciates the links. I haven't come across them before, so I'll have to check them out. Did you hear about the recent events at Georgetown University when AG Gonzales spoke? Students turned their backs and held a giant sign to protest in front of the film crew. Watching the video made me sick.
Nice Jack Bauer photo, by the way.

Watching the video made me sick. Daily Show with John Stewart made fun of them last night, because they were also wearing black hoods over the heads (unless this was not the same story). They stood up first, then tried to hoist their sign and it really looked stupid. Nice Jack Bauer photo, by the way. Amen! Rick, is it possible that you and I share a love for "24"? It is my #1 favorite right now.

Yeah, stl!! My wife and I watch it religiously (hope that word doesn't offend you )and have watched it since the first episode a few years ago, which by the way can be rented at the video store. We even have our daughter who teaches second grade in Bourbonnais hooked. It's a great show and "don't mess with Jack!"

Speaking of "24", I really like that weirdo Chloe who I think makes the show very interesting although I think she will get killed soon. That's what makes the show so interesting. They put the story ahead of the characters and it's hard to predict what will happen. The only character that won't be killed is Jack. We could use a few Jacks in the war on terror. Ohhhhhh

The extras got a lot better after season 1 (all they had was an alternate ending to "11:00pm - Midnight" where Teri doesn't die). Season 3 even had a half hour behind the scenes look at how they did that scene with the 2 F-18's taking out the helicopter, including getting the Navy, FAA, and local authorities coordination and consent and used 2 real live F-18's with real pilots. Haven't looked at season 4 extras yet. And yes, Jack is my hero

Think I'll go and get me one.

Ohhhhhh Well, technically he's died at least twice now What I want to know is: when did President Keeler die, and if he's alive and well, how come he hasn't retaken his office by now, instead of Mr. miserable-excuse-for-a-president Logan? Did I miss mention of Keeler's death?

Did I miss mention of Keeler's death? I read that Kiefer said he was dead. Or that he could return because the VP took over temporarily due to prez' injuries??? Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President. Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

stlvufan: Found this searching the web:
In an interview on The Charlie Rose Show dated 20 May 2005, Joel Surnow disclosed that the writers and producers had wanted to have President John Keeler die in the crash of Air Force One. However, network executives vetoed that idea and at the conclusion of the season he was comatose. The writers did have the President's 19 year old son, Kevin, die in the crash, though. In the fifth season, Keeler's vice president, who's currently the Acting President, is the permanent president for the balance of Keeler's term. It is not yet known publicly if Keeler dies or resigns.

I have not seen video of Georgetown on the web. I saw it only on TV. In 24 News, www.imdb.com listed that yesterday was Mia Kirschner's birthday. She played Mandy, the professional mercenary in several seasons. Those last few episodes with her again from Season 4 were great. I'd like to see her show up again. I have watched since the first episode of Season 1, but I wasn't able to watch Season 4 when it aired, so I rented all of the discs from Blockbuster. I should have spent the extra cash to buy the DVD, because the special features weren't including with the last rental. I was getting fed up with hearing Chloe whenever she spoke in the Season 3, but she has brought a bit of humor to the show in the last two seasons. Edgar has a similar personality and they play off each other well.
