Was wondering what requirements Horizon had to host a conference tournament? what sports would we be able to host based on the requirements? Any in our Future?

We already have hosted the CC Championships this past season.

There are no official requirements for basketball. Simply, in the first round the #3-6 seeds host the #7-10 seeds. The second round and semi are at the #1 seed and the final is at the highest remaining seed.

I more or less had BB figured & usually CC takes only a golf course or park. I guess what I'm wondering how about conference tournaments like Baseball , Softball ,Tennis ,swimming , Track[ I think I know that answer for now] ,ones that would bring 8-9 teams into town & last 2-3 days. I know they have certain requirements , it would be cool to have 1 or 2 here & give Valpo some great exposure.

Other than the basketballs and soccers the Horizon League rotates their championships based on a random drawing conducted as needed. Soccer like basketball is determined by seeds. The only requirement for hosting is that there be a facility on campus or in close proximity that meets the League's championship specs. In the future we will have the opportunity to host baseball, softball, volleyball, and tennis.

We should host tennis. The new courts are really great.

We can host volleyball and tennis on campus. There are baseball and softball facilities in NW Indiana that we could use to host those sports. For instance the Steel Yard in Gary would be a great location for the baseball tournament.

We would need lights at both facilities.
