Quote from Homer Drew in today's Post Tribune: “We need some practice time to get better, and we will get better.” I certainly hope so......I don't know how much worse Valpo can get .

Dude, don't take it so hard. Your team has been hit suddenly with illness, injury, and a ncaa probe. It's not like you guys are playing under normal circumstances. Allow them time to regroup like Homer said. Everyone knows that this Valpo team that's losing isn't at their best right now. There is still a lot of time until March.

This team needs to overcome the losses of players mentally. Skill-wise, they can hang in there. I think they're just so suddenly overwhelmed that they don't know what to do.

Actually I wanted the response to be "the players themselves." Of course who is resposible for picking the players for the program?

I agree. Essentially, at its core, the players have to play. They have to have the nerve to get it done and someone to instill that nerve in them. As a Detroit Lions fan all my life, I've watched hundreds of great players (talent-wise) who just don't have the willingness to play hard. All the potential in the world, and they just don't use it. And most times it's because the coach isn't a motivator. On a sports team, if a player doesn't do his job and play well, the only other opportunity to get through to that player comes from the coaching staff.
