Someone mentioned it on the Voy board, but, as can be expected, it came and went with little fanfare. This team has enough current shortcomings without discussing the outstanding performance of a former recruit who, as far as I know still won't sign with Valpo.

Just out of curiousity, what ended up happening with him and his status at Valpo?

Jon Diebler, who had verbaled to Valpo, decomitted and instead decided to play at Ohio State.
I think he was/is the real deal and a kid whose athleticism and scoring could have helped take Valpo up a notch. He is NOT a top 100 player according to most scouting services.

Yeah, Tiffin Columbian is my alma mater, so I was all over the 77 point story. Amazing! TC has never played well in basketball though, so take it with a grain of salt, I guess...... Still, would have been fun to see this guy in the ARC.

Diebler scored his 77 in an overtime game; the score was 105-100. A player from the opposing team (Tiffin Columbian) scored 52 in the same game. I don't remember Diebler's shooting percentage, but I know it was high, and he had a bunch of rebounds and blocks as well. He followed this game with another good one in which he scored either 35 or 37. However, the next weekend he scored only 14 in an easy win and was content to pass the ball. I do think he's the real deal.
