That is outstanding. Good news for out of region alumni. Anyone else notice we're the only logo without a mascot within it? Can't we fit the crusader in there somewhere?

Maybe the athletic department is working on a new logo. A move to a new conference sometimes calls for changes across the board.

The Valpo logo with a V is relatively new (five years or so?). It was a conscious decision to get the word Valpo in the logo and move away from VU, because there was too much confusion with Vanderbilt and even Vincennes. And if I recall, the school spent a lot of money to pay a marketing firm to come up with the logo. So I'd be surprised if they spent more money again to come up with a new one.

I love the Indiana-Jones-style Valpo logo. It is strong and uncluttered. For my taste, the Crusader mascot is just a little too...cute. Its addition alongside the Valpo logo would ruin the balance.

I am guessing by this conversation that no one has seen the new logo that was recently released by Valpo. My understanding is that it can be used for promo type things, but not on uniforms.

That's the new logo? A certain step up from what is found at the HL website now, IMO. Someone needs to get the new one to the HL front office ASAP. This new logo is interesting....if that picture is a true and accurate representation, its an obvious combination of two existing marks used together, wherein one mark or combination thereof is Federally registered (you can see that by the use of the R), and the other is not (use of the TM).

Lakeshore Public TV is the new name for WYIN, Channel 56, the public service station in NW Indiana.

According to the notes under the schedule, Lakeshore Public Television is the station in Merrilville, I can't remember the call letters, but its the station that RLH works with during the season and produces games for tv, those were the same games he would link at Valposports when he was involved with that great venture until August when he stepped down for that.

I'm still doing the games for Channel 56, which is now known as Lakeshore Public Television. Our first game is the Butler game on the 29th, and yes, they are doing some web streaming. The games that are not on live TV will have the radio play by play over the pictures instead of Joe and I doing the commentary....next year the university has to carry all the men's and women's games (conference games at least) on either live tv or the web....actually I believe plans are to carry all the games on both, probably as this year with those on TV having commentators and those on web only using the radio feed....The games this year are a test run to make sure everything is in order for next year....so, in the future you'll be able to get all the conference games LIVE on the web at the very least....

The new logo is officially on the Horizon League website! I think it looks much better than the previous one, and helps us stand out a little.

Thanks everyone for the information. I just hope that for those of us far away from God's country we will be able to see every Valpo conference game via on-line internet stream next year. By the way, if any of you folks are interested, unless I am misreading, according to the HL website the first streaming live game available this year will be tonight's exhibition game between WSU and U of Indy.
