From the outside looking in, I think that Crusader guy should look more menacing and maybe not so cartoonish. Look at the YSU Penguin. Although it is cartoonish, it looks like it could pluck out the eyes of the Crusader with no problem (he'd get to the eyes before the Crusader could pull down his visor). When both Loyola and Wright State changed their logos, they created a more menacing wolf. Milwaukee did the same with their Panther, even Phoenix with that bird- well, they didn't make it so much menacing as much as they just updated it. We at UIC even changed our flame logo. At first it was an incorporation of the letters U.I.C. into a flame, which was pretty cool, but the new version is, in my opinion, the best logo in the HL (some would say the Penguin). Maybe you guys could start an "update the Crusader guy crusade" (forgive me, I don't know his name). Does anybody have any ideas on updating your Crusader guy? maybe someone from the athletic department will see it?

How about bringing my 80 year old Dad back? :-) He could ride up and down on that horse and complain about his aches and pains. You know the only reason he got that Crusader mascot job was because his aunt owned a horse ranch in St.Louis (Valley Park) where he grew up and nobody else would do it.
