ND 92, IPFW 49 Are the Irish that much better or did the Mastodons have a tough first game? From the AP story it sounds like Coach Fife got caught by surprise by Notre Dame's up tempo style.

Obviously after Butler beat Notre Dame 71-69 tonight and Valpo beat IPFW by 8, 75-67, we will have to play really well to beat the Bulldogs. I do believe it's possible and what a great way to start off our rivalry with BU since they will be coming off the high of beating Notre Dame (by the way the Bulldogs have beaten ND six straight times) and now playing IU on ESPN.

I agree on the challenge that lies ahead against Butler. However, I'm not ready to extrapolate from the IPFW vs ND contest the degree of difficulty we'll experience. Besides the high of the Notre Dame victory will have worn off by then.

No sooner did I open my mouth.... It will be a longer fall when Valpo starts coming back against Butler at the ARC and the VUcru gets rocking. I think the Bulldogs will build a lead. No matter who you are playing when you play close to campus it's an advantage. (Hinkle is five miles from Conseco).
