Youngstown State is no longer a door mat in the Horizon League. Last night the Penguins beat Kent State at Kent 62-58. Kent had taken Butler to 2 TO's before losing at Hinkle and lost to Duke at Cameron Indoor 79-72. Actually UW-Milwaukee looks to be the bottom of the Horizon this year. They lost Coach Pearl to Tennesse and 6 seniors. Butler beat Evansville last night 76-65 at Hinkle. Attendence was 8,027 for a Christmas break game. They were complaining of only drawing 3,000 in past years. Amazing what winning can do for attendence. When a former Butler player stood up and showed Purple Aces coach Steve Merfeld 4 fingers when one of the Evansville players committed his 4th foul Merfeld yelled at him "Sit down a**hole." As usual the officiating was questioned a lot by the Evansville staff. After what happened to Homer Drew at Evansville it only seemed fitting.
