Join the Mid-Con in 1991 lasted 3 seasons then left as a part of the big exit. Wright State was successful with one tourney championship and a .560 winning percentage. They play in a very arena that was rockin' last night with over 10,000 cheering the upset of Butler. There seems to have been hard feelings between WSU and Valpo more so than any other old Mid-Con team. Should make for an interesting rivalry.

What will make this an interesting rivalry for me is the fact that Concordia Lutheran's Kyle Pressley was offered scholarships by both VU and Wright State. Needless to say he is not coming to VU and we will be playing against him the next 4 or 5 years. Should be interesting to see if he made the right choice!

For what its worth I played two years of high school basketball against Pressley as well as seeing him play three times this year. I for one am ecstatic that we did not get him. He is a head case, not strong enough to play D-1 and has a poor work ethic. I would be very interested to know the reasoning behind recruiting him in the first place. Not to question Homer or Bryce by any means but I don't think that the kid is ready and able to play D-1 now nor in my opinion will he ever be.

Since the incident at the Bellmont sectional his sophomore year, Kyle has really gotten his act together. His on the court attitude has really been exemplary. Kyle is a hard nosed kid as witnessed by a decent career in football as a wide receiver, and he is pretty athletic. You are correct in saying that he is not a particularly physical player at 6'9". Kyle would prefer to play more on the perimeter and unfortunately he has been allowed to play there much too often this season because of the overall height of Concordia's team . I believe that Kyle can play at the D1 level but he will have to learn and develop in order to play a more post/inside minded game.
