So a neutral court is only good for ORU when they play someone else that might have a chance to beat them?
But when it comes to the Mid-Con Tourney, well that's another thing now.

The word is spelled losing. And if you have read anything at all that I have written, you know that I think your team beat us because they are a better team.

Bucknell did play on their "home" court for their tournament. So we will see how they do a true "neutral" court.

Depending on how the conferences choose to have their tournaments, it is possible, as it once was for the Mid-Con for teams to play on their home court. I didn't mind that at all. The higher seeds get to host games at home. Happens all of the time. But when it is done the other way, as we now do it, it should be held as it most commonly is, at a neutral site so that there can be a sense of fair play and integrity in college sports. No one team should have home court advantage on a perpetual basis under this kind of arrangement. It's just not very ethical behavior to expect or create a special advantage over the other teams or in any way equitable or fair either. That any one team would expect to have that advantage and think there is nothing wrong with it, says a lot about their complete lack of character and their sense of fair play.

I think I have made my point. It should give you all something to think about as Christians but I am not hopeful that you will do other than to rationalize your behavior with regards to the tourney coup you pulled off (for the future) and my comments will fall on deaf ears. Say what you want. Sour grapes, let it go, run me out on a rail, call me a moron or sore loser. Fine. I can live with that. Despite the fact that I think you earned your trip THIS YEAR to the dance. I'll leave it alone and won't continue to post on this. Enjoy your deserved trip to the dance and the ride through the tournament if you progress beyond the first round. Bye.

Rick, it isn't even "ORU" who is locking up this bid. It is the Tulsa Sports Commission... but of course, since it is in Tulsa, then yes, ORU fans are going to come out and support the team and event, and yes, ORU fans are going to volunteer and help out with the event, YOU WOULD DO THE SAME!!! So if you are so upset about it, get a group together to come up with a proposal for an arena that is "neutral" in your eyes. This is the way I see it, don't complain about something and then just sit there, if you are going to complain, then be willing to step up and make something happen. I'm not saying you have to put the whole tournament together yourself, but if this is wrong to you, then start talking to the right people (Valpo Exec's of some sort...) and get the ball rolling for someone to make a bid for the tourney (since no one bid for the next 2 years besides Tulsa...). So put up or shut up, PLEASE!!!!!!

I am responding only because you called me out by name here.
And you don't see any conflict of interest because Richard Roberts is a member of the Tulsa Sports Commission? You make it sound like, golly gee Jethro, we didn't know anything about this and had nutin' to do with it. Puhleeese!
If having an unfair advantage is the way you choose to beat other teams in the future, every reasonable person watching from outside Tulsa will always question whether or not you were really good enough to win. Not this year. It's no big deal. You deserved it. But in the future, ORU will be known for the team that had to take advantage through political means to assure home court advantgage throughout every single tournament game even when the format is set up for a neutral site. If that's the only way you can win, more power to you despite how absolutely pathetic that is in reality.
