The Jags are in their 9th season in the Mid-Con, a move up from D2. Supposedly there was a promised by them to build a real basketball facility. That has not happened to date as they still play in "The Jungle" which is actually a small high school sized gym inside a world class swimming facility. IUPUI has one conference tourney title and a .525 winning percentage. Not sure if VU will continue to schedule them in the future though I hope that we do.

A note on the "small high school sized gym"...
The court is 91 feet long. A regulation college floor is 94, while high school is 84.
Because of the size of the gym itself, and the NCAA safety rules stating that there must me 10 feet of clearance on each end, they had to get a special exemption for the shorter court.

What are the purposes of regulations if the NCAA is going to issue exemptions from the regulations?!!!! Makes no sense to me!

You would think the powers that be at the NCAA offices would regulate that better and help them fundraise to build a new facility, but will never happen, even with the president of the association being indirectly linked to IUPUI because of the Indiana University link, but I think Myles Brand is too concerned with screwing up D-1 college basketball and football for that matter that he won't associate with them unless he can create controversy and get money out of the deal... That's my opinion of a man who needs to get his head out of butt and really show that he is the person who is in charge of the NCAA instead of only wanting to be known as the man who ran Bobby Knight to Texas Tech.
