I was just looking on the Horizon league site and I knew that the Horizon (Midwestern Cities, Midwest Collegiate) had several teams over the years but we will be #20. Only two originals still are in the league (Butler and Loyola). The other 4 originals (ORU, Evansville, Xavier and Oklahoma City) have moved up or on. Detroit came in year 2. Others who have made a stop there besides the current nine: St Louis Dayton Marquette LaSalle DuQuense Northern Illinois (one season after the Mid-Con)

A detailed look at both current and former members can be found here... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horizon_League I consider Detroit to be essentially an original member, joining in 1980. I wonder what the story was behind them becoming a member one year after the conference was founded?
