...in the Horizon League? Sorry, I'm too lazy to look at all the schedules and was hoping somebody would have a quick answer.

The change of conference has me more interested in "the other" sports than I've ever been--though that's not to say that I will be rabid fan of anything other than men's hoops nor does it imply that my new appreciation is purely sports-based. I think the degree to which we thrive in the non-marquee sports might be an interesting indicator of the value of the conference move to Valpo's overall reputation. I guess I'll be looking at the first sports we play in the Horizon to see (with no great precision) if there have been any gains in recruiting and how we stack up in general. Obviously, it would be nice to experience some early success so I was wondering which team would have the first crack at it.

I looked at the Horizon League website for an idea of when soccer season ends compared to cross country, and unless our men's or women's soccer teams make the NCAA tourney and go quite far, their season would be done either in October or maybe the first weekend in November with the HL tourney. Cross Country season ends with the NCAA Great Lakes Regional the second weekend in November, unless Laura Rolf and another individual or one of the two teams was to get into the field the Monday before Thanksgiving, the season would end in mid-November. I know many of you wanted to really believe cross country can't go on forever, but due to weather conditions and the differences in running styles between the two sports....soccer is higher risk once snow falls, plus it gets pretty difficult to play soccer when a heavy snowfall is coming down.
