With half a season done in the Horizon league how do you think we are doing? Cross country men better then expected, no top 10 placers though, womans' team, the best runner in the conference not a lot of depth VB one of the top teams, depth is limited also. Womans Soccer the team will finish in the top half of the league. Men's soccer competitive again not a lot of depth, middle to lower half of the league Soft Ball in the top half of the league I' say that better then we experted! Your thoughts...

I don't know that people care much about anything other than winning in Basketball around the league... I mean, winning the McCaffery Trophy is nice and all, other than that, Basketball is all that really matters.

That may be true nil, but we're considering the full difference in conference/league change for all of our teams, not just basketball. I think its too early to tell for some of our sports, but I think we can already tell that morale and consistency of play/competition is up overall.
Cross Country is kinda young on both sides, but they are making some great strides in becoming middle of the pack teams in the first couple of years in the HL. Laura has been unbelievable in each of her races, considering the record that Colette Liss held was on the top of the list for about 10 years! I'm glad to see her name finally falling further down all of the record lists that she's on. I hope the men and women have a great showing at the first Horizon League Cross Country Championships held at Sunset Farms in Valpo.

I love VU basketball just as much as the next guy, but to totally dismiss the other sports that your school competes in is pretty myopic. Maybe that's the way things are viewed at Butler, but I sure hope it isn't the prevailing opinion at Valpo. Basketball is our most followed sport, but cheers to the athletes that work hard and compete in our other sports as well.

I agree. I cheer on every sport that we have, and would like to see us near the top in each sport if possible!!

trust me, I appreciate our success in other sports, but I'd say that the majority of people out there could care less... The other sports just aren't visible enough.

There are definitely some Butler folks who follow other sports. Their board was really alive (other sport-wise) when they dropped Lacrosse.
