An intentional foul is usually one of desperation. I saw none of that in this particular foul. I thought there was a play for the ball but the referee reacted to the hold. The intentional foul may have cost BU more in terms of points, but I felt the technical started a wave of momentum on which this intentional foul continued to build. It is amazing that when you start to think you can't do anything right it generally becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If I recall the writeup correctly, that is exactly how Scott Drew saw the momentum swing after the game, which is why he regretted it so much (I'm interpreting that last part, but it seemed kind of obvious to me).
