What would be really cool is to turn Tuesday in Dayton into a 4-PIG all-day-event. How surprising would it be, really, if that would be wildly successful? Having said that, I'm guessing that other cities will be bidding madly to become Dayton II, Dayton III, and Dayton IV. If St. Louis hosted a PIG, I might go. I like the idea of that Tuesday being "play-in day". I think I would only be interested in it if the 8 teams were playing to be a 6,7,8,9,10, or 11 seed, and not a "gimme" 16 seed. I would advocate for the 8 bubble teams to be in these play-in games, instead of 8 teams from low-major conferences, or 1st time entrants. that sounds intriguing to me, too. I wonder how the Dayton folks would feel about it. Do they flock to the game because the little guys are playing each other, or do they flock to the game simply because it's a tourney game, regardless of who is playing? I'm not sure the answer to that question.

I'm not sure the answer to that question. Do these games necessarily have to be in Dayton? They could be regionally based to accommodate the teams playing, especially with the travel arrangements having to be so quick? With planning ahead, maybe you have the four sites hold an early game at a college campus site near the arena hosting the first and second round games, that way the housing is already taken account for, since the NCAA covers all of these details for the participating teams.

i also like that idea. it would certainly give the tourney more competition, fighting for a chance to maybe actually win a game, rather than winning only to get your ass kicked 2 days later.

No, I was just day-dreaming one possibility. If I lived in Dayton, I'd take a vacation day and just go watch basketball. Truthfully, I believe no such decision has actually been made yet.
