I've only seen VU play @ Duke, so I can't comment too much, but:
If VU brings their "A" game, we win by 10; if its "status-quo" as per the last few games, we lose by 15.
VU 75 IUPUI 65

Miles not completely healthy. Huff a tremendous loss especially on defense and overall basketball savvy. Ali will force the game as usual. Adjustments haven't been made when we get behind or when one weapon keeps killing us over and over without a response. Guys are not confident now and are doubting their ability to win.
If we want to win, we need to pull whoever hurts us. (Read Ali, Ali, Ali) Homer needs to get a "T" and stop letting the refs run roughshod over him, and somebody, hopefully Kone, needs to get real darn mad and start to take matters into his own hands. Somebody needs to learn how to instill a killer instinct and play in-your-face, Indiana, team basketball. Get back what we lost a few weeks ago. I don't think they will pull it off - not tonight at least - maybe at some time in the future.

Crusaderguy08 mentioned in an earlier post that IUPUI is totally guard-oriented and that we will need to guard the perimeter better than we did at Oakland. According to the numbers, our defensive guard play has stunk up the place for 3 consecutive losses. C.S., S.U. and Oakland's 2 starting guards and 1st bench guard all scored in double figures, scoring 51%, 56% and 66% of their team's points, respectively. Whichever Valpo guard is playing good defense, I'd sure like to know who it is! For all the hype in the paper this week about Colclasure being a "smart" defender who can guard quicker players, forget it. Nobody's doing the job defensively - nobody! The facts don't lie. For all the talk about Oppland being double and triple-teamed, playing an off game, etc., forget it. Valpo's woes aren't at the offensive end - they score plenty of points. They just aren't making enough stops on opposing teams guards and until they do, they're in for a lot more losing. I shudder to think what would have happend if Ken Tutt had played in the ORU game. He would probably have gone off for 30 and another Valpo loss.
Tonight's prediction: IUPUI 85 - Valpo 75 (IUPUI's guards score 2/3's of their points - and make it look easy)

Since they've now had a couple of days to gel with Kone and possibly have Jimmy back, I think that they make a strong statement on their home court, even though it will be very close.
Valpo 72 IUPUI 71, possibly OT
Big game from Howard!

IUPUI 80 Valpo 77 I thought Ali played fantastic last night, and was pleasantly surprised - at least in terms of playing within himself and the flow of the game. A couple of bad fouls maybe, but I don't recall seeing him force anything. I saw Ryan at the game, but didn't see you. Where you at the game?

And I gave my ticket to Ryan's friend who if you saw her was the price of admission. Plus my boss had some honey-do work for me to get ready for visitors. But I did listen to the chef and his sidekick.

Ali had 5 TO and only 4 AST I did not think he played a very good game. He drew at least one offensive foul during the time I was watching and just didn't do much to impress me. Every time I watch him, he looks like he is trying to show off, not do what's best for the team.

He had several great steals and converted each of them, IIRC.
