I understand that when we signed the Nike deal that they didn't have, at the time, a "brown" in the uniform choices.
Will this change or are we going to get in line with Colorado, Iowa, Purdue and Wake Forest, among many other "Black and Gold" schools.
Nothing better than a dark brown football jersey!
A second question concerning the new floor at the ARC. Given the $500,000 estimated cost, are there other improvements going to happen, or is it just the floor? Finally, and I know nothing has been finalized, but given this investment, does it seem more likely that a renovation of the ARC would be chosen over a new arena?
Thanks!

I don't know about football....but I do know Homer won't have brown uniforms for basketball....Football had brown jersey up to just a couple of years ago.....I thought they actually looked pretty good for football

I think for basketball, brown would good for the warm-up tops, but brown wouldn't look great as a main uniform color. Though I could see where Homer is concerned about the kind of comments that could come from the opposing crowd about any kind of brown in our basketball gear. Brown works great for football, otherwise Cleveland would have to change their name...and some of the other colleges, like Wyoming and Montana might not look good in brown.

We are finishing the first year of our agreement with Nike. During the last year brown was only available as a custom color option which resulted in an up-charge on Nike apparel orders. Beginning with the coming year brown will be a standard color. I would expect to continue to see gold in many of our uniforms and more brown moving forward. The current economy is working in our favor and it appears that the new floor will cost less than originally estimated. If funds were to become available the next improvement would be the scoreboard. The new floor is something that is needed regardless of the future uses of the ARC.
