Man, they talk about "pushing the envelope" these days? There is no "envelope" anymore. Either that, or the meaning of the phrase has been inverted (pushing the envelope has become so conventional that the conventional is now the surprisingly new, fresh way to go). :crazy

I've heard of church youth pastors who do this kind of stuff, of course it is after the consultation with the parents that they know this is going to happen. If this is the case, then it is meant all in good fun, but if it 'pushes the envelope' towards stalking, then yes, it is weird, but I guess acceptable in the United Kingdom. Cultural understandings can be really odd for many various things.

Ours used to raise funds by offering people the chance to be "flocked" (suddenly a bunch of sea-gull plastic figures on a wire sticking in the ground all over your front yard). It went over well, and we're not exactly a progressive congregation The one mentioned in this thread? Um, no, it wouldn't go over at all, I guarantee it.

Um, no, it wouldn't go over at all, I guarantee it. at the first church my mom served at, they did something similar, but with flamingos. it was quite a shock when i got home the night before my 18th birthday to find 30 pink flamingos in our front yard.
