saw two names on that list that didn't make any sense to me. i fully understand mizzou and pitt being on the list (though for rivalry issues, iowa state makes more sense than mizzou). notre dame is too high and mighty to accept any offers made to them - what do i care, it's their loss. but why would the big 10 be interested in uconn and rutgers? they're way outside the existing geographical area of the conference. it's been a midwest conference, with one eastern exception in penn state.

so while most conferences are trying to shrink geographically to shorten travel, the big 10 might end up taking on another 400 miles of land. still not sure i like it, but oh well. i don't have a vote in the matter-just a 22 year old kid at an unaffiliated school. guess i'm just gonna have to learn to be apathetic about it.

This might wind up being true...the college basketball AD's and Presidents were meeting in Tempe this week to discuss NCAA Tourney expansion and to talk in back rooms about conference affialiations. It looks like the Big 10 wants to add 5 to bring it to a total of 16. Now, Nebraska is a new one but they are not pleased with the Big 12 Divisions system and the fact that they no longer play historical rival schools like Texas and Oklahoma regularly. I've also heard them attached to Colorado heading to the PAC 10!!!!! One thing that's clear in all this is that the other conferences are waiting and reacting to what the Big 10 does. This is getting interesting...

and let me guess. nd football remains independent... I think ND is pretty much dead in this because of their refusal to enter football into the new conference talk. Too bad...they fit right into the Big 10...

Well, the Mountain West IS a BCS school...remember TCU? As for the Mountain West...their commish just asked Kansas, Kansas St, Baylor and Missouri if they'd be interested if the 4 or 5 schools go to the PAC-16. I wonder what happens to Iowa St? This is winding up being WAAAAAAAAAY bigger than I originally thought it would be when the rumors started...
