Sad. Best onion rings in Porter County. Once owned by Bryce and some other players and Todd and Rob. What went wrong? Ryan will miss it big time.

Food was average at best and that doesn't cut it for what they were charging. 2. Poor location to benefit from any possible VU student patronage. 3. No large/modern televisions, etc. What sports bar still has standard definition televisions?

According to the information I got last week, they are selling to new owners. Not sure if they will keep it the same or change things.....

No large/modern televisions, etc. What sports bar still has standard definition televisions? I liked certain menu items. I didn't try most of what was on their menu. Quality control started to go downhill. I brought that to the attention of one of the young managers a couple of times but he didn't seem too concerned. Someone I know said that the BL's in Portage (closed as well) had employee's stealing buckets of wings. Another person I know said that one of the waitresses was giving his group free pitchers of beer. That kind of thing will kill a restaurant. And making sure the food is of high quality and hot when it arrives at the table is something where they often fell short. It wasn't always that way. Some fella named Shumaker is buying it I think and will open a Pizza Ria but may keep the sandwich menu from BL's.

Rick thanks to you and Ryan for your great support, as well as so many members of the Valpo athletic department. I don't plan on ever getting back into the restaurant business, but I'll always be the chef.
