Whitney said the come-from-behind win against Gardner-Webb was the most exciting game she has seen in a while. Congrats to the team on the 10-3 start. After starting the past couple of seasons 9-3, they finally break over the hump and get that 10th win to set a record for best start in school history. The ball must look like a basketball to Jordan Rutkowski right now. .571 ba, way to go kid. Kelsey Phalen and Alex Lagesse are also on the top of their game. Keep it rollin'.

Not sure if SB can release any info on him or not, laws are strange. Might try Whitney at Valpo & have her pass on to dad,but not sure how they are set up either. Many are first name. second name@valpo.edu.

ValpoDad in serious auto accident. Daughter Whitney,Home with him. Please keep him & his family in your prayers. God be with you ValpoDad. Granny - thank you for praying for me and my family. The past couple of days have been extremely rough. I was on my way to work on Wed morning at 6:15am, in Indy its still dark at that time. I was traveling around 50mph on a main route to downtown. I'm not sure if the small sports car pulled out in front of me or failed to stop in time and left his frontend in my lane. Regardless, I had zero time to react and drove my lifted Jeep Cherokee over his front bumper/hood. The impact launched my vehicle into the air, rolling to the left. I landed hard on the drivers door and continued to roll 2 times, stopping on its wheels in the center median/turn lanes. I was very fortunated to be able to climb from the vehicle and walk from the accident. I did suffer some serious injuries: a 7" laceration to the head that required 19 staples and 6 stitches, a fractured sternum, a few brocken ribs and some compression fractures in the lumbar region of my lower back. I was extremely lucky as I was not wearing a seatbelt and do not plan to make that mistake again. I am being released from the hospital later today, Friday. I want to publicly thank Coach Schneider for purchasing a plane ticket for Whitney to fly home from their Kansas trip. Although we encouraged her to stay with her team, Amy and I do appreciate that Coach insisted on sending her home. Here's where the story takes a crazy turn. Whitney was suppose to fly from Kansas to Milwaukee, then from Milwaukee to Indy, arriving at midnight on Wed. She got to Milwaukee, but all flights out were cancelled due to poor visibility. Long story short, she hopped a bus to O'Hare, hitched a ride from a friend from O'Hare to her house, slept for a while and then the friend drove her to VU to pick up her own car. She then made the 3 hour drive to Indy. I suppose after being on the road for 2 1/2 weeks, hearing that your father was hurt in an accident, then going thru the stress of the botched travel arrangements was a little too much. Roughly 15 minutes after arriving at the hospital, Whit blacked out and was sent to the ER. Crazy. Apparently, she suffered what they called a Vagus Nerve reaction and will be just fine, but scared the hell out of us. Keep her in your thoughts, but she should be fine with no lastings effects. She is going to stay home this weekend and drive back to VU late Sunday. Wow, what a couple of crazy days. Congrats to the team on the comeback win against Marshall.

ValpoD. Take some consolation in the fact that the softball team is now 15-6,thanks to a doubleheader win yesterday over Missouri State and KU. Wow! The softball, volleyball, bowling and soccer programs are WINNERS On the other hand football ,M/W basketball, and baseball are WRECKS.Perhaps they too will survive and rehabilitate themselves. Hope so,or we may have to change doctors. Good luck!
