At present the combined W-L records of our three marquee teams are 11-29 ( Football,1-10,M b'ball 6-10,W b'ball 4-9). Unacceptable! Is there another D1 school as inept as we are in these three major sports programs? Who? I don't know what the solution is,but we are attempting to correct the football problem. Perhaps both basketball programs need to be purged and then up-graded too. Or perhaps, D3. Whatever, let's do something.I am tired of Butler beating the crap out of us as they did today in W b'ball. We neeed CHANGE!

Well, jj looking at the positive side of things would be a change, but I don't think that's what he's going for. Could be wrong but I doubt it. That said, there's a whole lot of reasons to be negative when it comes to this season (and last really). Do you really see any better results in the win loss colum, because at this point I don't.

i see a more competitive team on a consistent basis then we ever had last year. *in chapel hill, we lost by only 11. last year, at uc, we lost to them by 30. *detroit has a very athletic team this year. it shouldn't come as a surprise that we wound up on the short end. they have height that we don't have right now, and they made the right adjustments. *our defense has made very good gains in a short amount of time. since purdue, nobody's dropped 80 points on us. *we're shooting free throws way better than we were at this point (or ever) last season.
there are reasons to stay positive about this season. the recruiting classes throughout the conference have leveled out the parity (aside from butler, though some are getting a lot closer than the bulldogs would like), and it's only going to continue to improve. a conference where everyone plays .500 against each other is a much better conference than ones where a few teams beat the hell out of everybody, some others play average ball, and then others can't hit the broad side of a barn on their good nights.
