Whereas we reserve our vitriol for our own student athletes, apparently

He has a lot of knowledge about all ten programs in the HL. He also cares about the league and like us is proud to be part of it. As to the critical comment about Milwaukee, it's way too early to write anyone off.

After the Bulldogs' loss to Evansville at Hinkle I don't think the other HL teams will be hearing as much about non-conference losses from Butler fans. I wonder what Gordon Hayward said to his Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan (1964 Evansville alum) after that game.

I wonder what Gordon Hayward said to his Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan (1964 Evansville alum) after that game. "Play me Coach" I haven't checked box scores lately (Deseret News online doesn't seem to have them, at least not conveniently), but I get the feeling Gordon has dropped out of the rotation. He did start recently for a game, maybe two, but this may turn out to be a kind of "red-shirt" year for him.

Per the Butler fans his shooting percentage went down and he no longer made the rotation. It was also stated that his defense was not yet the caliber of an NBA player believe it or not. But Gordon is working on it with his coaches and teammates.

I'd be curious to know if Deron Williams has ever blown up at any other teammate in his career for failing to be where he was supposed to be (during live play, no less).

I don't read the Butler board anymore. Good, knowledgeable fans like eddiec and zvillehaze are drowned out by bandwagon jumpers who only came on after Butler's sweet 16 run in 06-07 or the Final Four run in the spring. They also have the idiots who have been there for most of the decade or longer who only have eyes for their own program and think that Butler belongs in the Big East.
Whatever. I don't need some nameless, faceless a**hole like this "willisbrown" character to approve of how I see the league. He can cat call from his anonymous place among the 5,000 fans at Hinkle Fieldhouse (I bet the crowds feel awfully sobering down there), but I doubt he'd be talking a big game if he was in my shoes, recognizable at arenas across the conference as the guy with the voice of a bull horn and the size of an offensive tackle. I may have the SN BlackPantherUWM, but I make no effort to hide my real name, Jimmy Lemke, or anything about me. It's one of the reasons I like this board - you all seem to know each other personally through mutual love for the Crusaders, and I respect that.
The Butler fans I care about, I go out of my way to talk to (or they come to the UWMFreak board or comment on PantherU.com). Damon Lewis is a damn good guy that I'm proud to know, and he's worth ten of every "willisbrown" or "firedupkaren" on the Butler fan board.
If you want a real measure of a fan, see if he's still there when your team is 9-22, as I was when we were awful in 06-07. That's why I have a ton of respect for YSU fans - they keep coming despite the bleak outlook.
Thanks for the heads up...do you have the thread? I'd like to go insult that anonymous douchebag.

"The guy with the voice of a bull horn and the size of an offensive tackle." Jimmy is about 6-foot-7, 325 pounds. Of course, that's his program weight.

Did Jimmy happen to make an appearance at the ARC with some other Milwaukee fans at last year's GB game? Someone fitting that description sat in the student section, donned a VU T-, got the student section fired-up, and even participated in the musical chairs game at half time. Whoever those guys were, they great sports and fun to have there. I can't imagine the GB fans were too happy with all the heckling directed toward their players and coach.
