That was a great game! UIC held Illinois, and they did a lot of attacking the paint to keep the big men rattled. Illinois was also doing a really poor job of boxing out on rebounds, so UIC was able to capitalize on so many factors of this game. UIC fought for this win, and they played a very full 40 mins. of basketball. vu72, what did you think of the red jacket that Howard Moore was wearing?
Loyola just narrowly lost to DePaul, that would have been a good RPI help, and if Cleveland St. could have pulled out the win over West Virginia. We could have been 3-0 against "BCS" teams, or as I prefer, major conference opponents.

I watched the game on the BTN. Illinois was 10-1 and ranked No.12 in the country. The Flames were 17.5 point dogs. Amazing win for the Flames and the best win for the HL this year. Congratulations Flames fans! Your program is making a complete 180 from the past couple of seasons.

I heard a familiar refrain from the BTN announcers at one point: "Dimitri McCammey needs to get his head in the game."
That was a constant complaint last year, too.
As someone who was in that very building just about 8 years ago, I'm extremely jealous on behalf of Greg Tonagel.
As for CSU, I thought WVU must have made some significant adjustments at half time. Also Cole led a huge comeback to tie the game at 55, then came out of the game. Crucial turning point.
As for Loyola, you know you're not doing very well when you can't beat the perennial Big-East bottom-feeder whose conference record over the past couple of years is barely better than that of the YSU women's team over the same span. Of course, Milwaukee lost to them too, which I really did not expect to happen. Maybe Purnell has that program on the upswing again.
