I agree, nor was I directing anything negative on Richards. She's a good ball player, but, as you state, I think she may be playing out of possition - She may agree at this point - Playing point is like playing quarterback - it has very unique resposibilities, very different from any other possition, and, at this level, you can't be competitve if you don't excell in this spot. The other four players on the floor HAVE to be confident with their point guard to be comfortable enough to play the possition they are responsible for.

OK let's say Richards is playing out of position. What, pray tell, is her position. Please tell me we did not recruit her to be a shooting guard. And yes, I know she works hard and is our best alternative. Here is the scary part. Ray was recruited to be a point. She is now a 5-3 SG. Gick was recruited to be a PG and obviously that is not working. Richards was recruited as a PG and she apparently is not as well. Add to this 2 freshman centers that are deemed not quick enough to play significant minutes. Sounds like some recruiting issues. Nice to see Calloway rewarded for her best perfomance of the year with 7 minutes while Milwaukee posts scored at will.

Last nights game v UWM had the same symptom of many others - just at a different time - a LONG stretch of being out scored without any adjustments whatsoever. Instead of starting the game on a miserable run this happened in the second half. no time out, no subs, no result. Saving all those TO's for the last 1:10 of the game when you're down by 10+ points has really paid off handsomely. Maybe that was a successful mid-con strategy. or is this all part of the mysterious methods that work?

Right now we seem to be guard heavy without a true PG. If you're an average or a little above average PG in high school, you'll have a tough time playing that possition at the next level. Unfortunately, some players struggle to make the transition to college ball, and without a crystal ball, it's impossible to tell who will make it, and who will not. That's not with just basketball. This is why scolarships are renewed year to year, and not a 4 year program. I'd be playing Calloway until she begged to come out. It's the only way she progresses into the system. It's impossible to get the game experience she needs in practice. Without getting specific, one of the two freshmen centers you mention is playing out of possition and needs to move to the 4, and both need many more minutes. It's time to start building for 11-12, and take a hard look at who will be able to contribute the way they need to. We need to do something to boost some confidence in our young players, and having them play the roll of spectator won't do it.

Nice to see Calloway rewarded for her best perfomance of the year with 7 minutes while Milwaukee posts scored at will. I bow to the mastery of the ARC Wizard who geniously kept as small a line up as possible while UWM posts scored at will on shorter players. All Hail the ARC WIZARD for he is all knowing!
