There is a brand new interactive virtual tour of campus, complete with videos of different buildings, really neat 360 degree views of a few buildings and parts of campus, and new photos of buildings. If you're interested in seeing a pretty great (and recent) overview of the campus, check it out! www.valpo.edu/virtualtour/

I just checked this out, and I am impressed. I'll admit, I didn't do the traditional college visit to Valpo, but when I looked all the materials sent to me, after being accepted to VU, I just felt from reading about it that Valpo was for me. After Focus '99, I was glad I made the decision, and no one was changing my mind on where I went. This virtual tour is a great tool/resource for us, as alums of the school, to pass on to students/church friends we know who are looking at colleges and more resources to get an idea of what Valpo is all about. The videos and 360 photos were awesome. The videos gave more of an idea of some of the activity that happens, instead of just hearing about it from a college rep.

Really great to see the campus in this new light. I'm sold on the place. By comparision, when I arrive on campus back in 1950,I had not visited the campus because of the long distance between IN. and NJ (no Ohio or Indiana turnpike, just US 30 from Pitt. to Valpo). We arrived on a rainy day, pulled up to Lemke Hall, surveyed the campus, saw the temporary barracks,et.al.and almost turned around and went home. I had also been accepted at Lafayette and Rutgers. Thank goodness I stayed at Valpo (met my future wife and made other life time friends). My point is: had I seen the campus back then I would not have enrolled at VU. Now,what a difference. Go Valpo!

Wow JJ, that's the most positive post you've had in a long time. And taking the timeline from that, you're even older than I thought!

I thought the tour was great and very informative for a potential student. Some of the photos could be better, like the the one of Brown Field that looks like it seats about 500 and no pictures of the ARC with a full house. Some kids are interested in a smaller school, or Lutheran school, and D1 athletics can and does make a difference. Also, to mention of athletics other than to say it is D1. Overall, a great addition!!

Overall, a great addition!! I don't think the ARC having a picture of a full gym during a basketball game would have been a strong selling point, as much as just seeing how big the ARC is, and some of the general areas within the building. Fans, in pictures, gives me that thought of sports movies, most of the time the fans are only there to make the place look busy. Some of the academic buildings could have used some pictures or video of what kinds of technology is used, especially Urschel and Gellerson.
