I believe this team has finally reached a point this season and has established itself to the point where they know they are and what they can do. Its a very good thing as player to know that. They have shown what they can do defensively, consistent enough, to have alot of confidence at that end of the court. Offensively, they need to get the ball to Cory in the post and continue to play as much transition as possiable. Brandon Wood is the X factor alot times, his play kind of dictates how the offense flows. Opponents really focus on keeping the ball out of his hands. Scoring 60 plus against Cleveland State with only one player in doube figures should come to no suprise. This team has balanced scoring and thats a wonderful thing. Buggs and Howard have become great perimeter defenders and rebound exceptional for their positions. Hopefully the team remains healthy and focused because this team can maintain its position in the conference. As much as I sometimes critisize the coaching staff and the guys for lacking fundamentals, (free throw shooting, setting screens, coming off a screen, following their shot) they are winning, playing hard and seem to get more cofindence and gain more focus from each win. This season could really turn out to be a huge step foward for VU basketball. Valpos defensive is capable of becoming intimidating to its opponents and that could become the beginning of many more wins.
