The next 3 games are going to be huge, especially at home. Despite their record Milwaukee is a team that scares me. The guys better be ready because now we have the target on our back.

Ditto.

I think you have it wrong. I think a good part of the HL will be rooting for you. No one wants another HL tournament at Hinkle. I will always be rooting for my Raider's first, but after that I root for whoever can take down Butler.

I'm just going to ignore bigdwsu and say congrats Crusaders! Well deserved 1st place right now as you guys are playing great. The next 3 games are indeed critical with common opponents for both (especially the 3rd one!).

If we go to the NCAA does Homer retire this summer?

Friday night's a big game. Not nearly as worried about the Phoenix as I am about the Panthers. It's about time WSU took Butler down. It's nice up here all by ourselves! Haven't seen that this late in the season since the Mid-Con days...

Haven't seen that this late in the season since the Mid-Con days... We still need to be worried about everyone. As mj stated, we are now a team with a target on our backs. I think in the past we have benefited from being travel partners with Butler, but now the big game in the weekend tandem may just be the game against VU or at least the importance of beating us has gone up a couple of notches. Expect to get everyone's best shot from now on.

Really fw, Butler was a national finalist last year. One game and one day in 1st place dies not change the dynamics of this conference. Teams may recognize that it will be a tough game, but I don't think the underlying fundamentals (Butler is the top "dog" (sorry), and Valpo has won nothing in this conference yet, including beating Butler) have changed much. We still need to play hard and at our highest levels every game. By way of pondering, since Valpo entered the Horizon, has a team ever won both ends of the I-65 trip?

I think you are reading things into my statement that aren't there. I most heartily agree that VU has won nothing yet and that Butler is the top dog in this conference, but the Horizon is still a one or possibly two bid league to which securing the first two seeds in the conference tournament is paramount. Getting so hyped up to play Butler that their travel partner (VU) slides under the radar is no longer an option for other contenders. A better strategy might be to concentrate more on defending home court against us down the road if we hold serve on our home floor the next couple of games.

"Target on our backs" is a bit premature, I think.

What a great weekend...VU takes the top spot in HL, Bears advance to NFC finals and the Blackhawks get three (out of four) points. I agree, this week with the Wisconsin teams is critical. However, there is no reason why we cannot defeat these teams at home. UWM looked very average at home against Loyola. Yes, they defeated Butler, but isnt that more of Butler coming back to the conference level? Let's face it, last year was a very special team, not taking anything away from this year's squad but Hayward and Veasley are gone and huge to replace. The defense of first place will place added pressure on this team and make them tougher. Let's savor the weekend and look ahead. lowposter

Nobody knows which Milwaukee team will show up. The one that beat Butler by 24 or the one that just lost to Loyola, both games were home games for the Panthers. Nobody can take the Panthers lightly with what they are capable of doing.
