It's a slap in the face to Lutherans everywhere! How is it a slap in the face to Lutherans everywhere? Everything I've ever heard about Martin is that he is a very good young man. How can a legitimate top-level recruit that obviously and genuinely considered coming to VU be a slap in the face? When top-level talent gives VU consideration, I think of that as a good thing. How often is VU even mentioned with othe in-state top-level talent? I wish him well, as I'm sure most of the VU staff does as well. Are you sure Lutherans outside of NW Indiana really care? He is a basketball player and student - making a choice for college is most likely based on what school can provide him an opportunity for success and improvement, both in the classroom and on the court. I don't see how religion plays in this?

If you read between the lines a little, what Martin was saying is he didn't want to play defense as hard as Matt Painter insisted......

Martin stuck it to VU twice...great guy. He needs to be 'Hummeled' by someone. He didn't stick it to VU two times. Come on. If you're a big-time, major Division I recruit coming out of high school, just because your hometown has a good program doesn't mean you want to stay there to play. Playing at Purdue before 14,123 fans every game, in the Big 10, is a little more appealing than the ARC.

Mosts kids would take the Big 10 over the Horizon if given the chance. And then to transfer into the Big East....c'mon...it's almost a no brainer
