Why is 14-2 suddenly the magic mark? Nobody ever won the HL season with 3 losses. My guess, without looking, is that the average number of conferences losses for a 1st place team is 4. there's 18 conference games, not 16. but i understand your point. Oh, Butler hasn't moved to the Big Ten yet? ;D

IMO, The seating configuration at the ARC will cause logistical problems for the tournament. One team’s student section is going to be resolved to using small temporary bleachers, if both student sections are placed behind both baskets. If a fan wants to purchase a ticket behind a basket, he probably will not be able to do so. Not to mention that ticket allocation for each school is going to be much smaller that what might be available at Hinkle or the Nutter Center given the ARC’s size, which means less fans may be able to purchase. To rectify some of these issues IMO what Valpo should do if VU is fortunate enough to host this tournament is to at least rent the same size endzone bleachers that the students use now and place them behind the open basket. Also offer round the track standing room only ticket availability for overflow, or place metal bleachers on the track and sell seats for purchase in case demand becomes very high.
If VU wins the conference, it will be interesting to see how an outdated antiquated facility such as the ARC will handle the hosting of a major college basketball tournament. The Region will be able to handle the tournament fine. The better question is whether the ARC will be able to do the same and provide a good comfort level for incoming fans.

I'm sure Jon LeCrone and the other HL officials are very aware of the situation at the ARC. What contigencies they are working out with Valpo will be interesting to see....IF the time comes that Valpo does host the 2 day 5 visiting team tourney. Except for the Butler fans that's not so bad is it.

Valpo had the #1 seed in the 1995 Mid-Continent Tournament (before they went with a neutral site at The Mark of the Quad Cities in 1996). Not sure if that tourney shattered any attendance records (and obviously, the over-all crowd would've been smaller), but they have, technically, hosted a tournament.

Hey guys, first off I want to congratulate you guys on your season so far, nice to see someone other then Butler in first. Secondly, me and my buddies have been to Indy the last two years for the conference tourney and its been a blast. Although UWGB hasnt done very well down there we sure partied enough to make up for it. So my question is, if Valpo ends up hosting it and UWGB makes it, how are the bars down there? Thanks guys and beat the Panthers.

Thanks guys and beat the Panthers. There are enough bars in town to do a sufficient job of bringing you to a state of inebriation, if that is your goal. Duffy's is the closest bar to the ARC. Downtown has the Franklin House, and there are sports bars such as BW3 and another wings place. Northside Tavern is also an interesting place. My best advice, beware of Valpo cops.

Northside Tavern is also an interesting place. that's a good way to put it. passtimes is also a hit with the vu students, though it's not capable of holding the quantities of people that northsides/duffy's/pepe's can hold.
