FYI, for far-flung Valpo-ites: anyone with an AT&T Internet connection can get the Valpo games that are on ESPN3.
This would apply to the Valpo-Milwaukee game.
They also archive games for a week or so.
For those who've been under a rock, like myself (aka not knowing what ESPN3 was or how it could be accessed.)

Anyone with an internet connection and a computer made after 2005 can get the Valpo games (or any other games) on ESPN3.com. Not being a smart alec, just letting everyone know.

Ah, does the archive disappear? Anyhow, I usually manage to watch within a couple of days (hopefully I'll see it Saturday).
I definitely appreciate the (in my experience, fairly promptly posted) archive. But, I haven't been that impressed by the streaming quality. It seemed bandwidth limited, and limited by something other than my home connection. Maybe a problem with their European servers or something.
How is the experience for others?

It's been choppy. My guess is if one is using a wireless connection, it's more prone to be problematic. A hard LAN line or DSL are probably going to be better when you consider live streaming. The archived games run fine, so it's probably a live bandwith issue on their end, for the most part.

How is the experience for others? i haven't been real thrilled with the quality this season either. it's generally more reliable in the replays, but still not on par with its predecessor. did they magically lose bandwidth when they transformed from espn360 to espn3? or is it just a simple matter of more users?

On a FIOS 25mbps connection and don't seem to have the issues you guys are talking about. Things seem to be fine for the most part even when connecting using wireless.

I've only used ESPN 3 once live and once on replay and it's worked well both times. I have Comcast broadband.....by the way, the UIC feed on HLN last night was by far the best I have ever seen on HLN. Picture quality-wise that is.

I've got an Xbox360. As long as your Internet provider offers it and you subscribe to Xbox Live for $40-50/yr, you can view the same content. I've seen a few Horizon League, Marquette, and Baylor games. There are quite a few SportsCenter highlights to view on demand as well. HDMI to the big screen is a bonus, if you don't have it on a laptop or PC. The quality gets really ****** at times, but it's better than nothing. The ESPN/ESPN2 games tend to be in HD and are much better than the local broadcasts when the bandwidth drops. I missed the Wright State game live, but saw it that evening on demand. There are over 1,100 on demand events going back to November 1.

Well, after telling everyone how I don't have any trouble with ESPN3 I come home last night after going to the obligatory high school game eager to watch how VU, without Brandon or Ryan, beat Milwaukee.... no such luck. I fire up ESPN3, find the replay of the game and get Loading... Loading... Loading... for 45 minutes. Hope I can watch it this morning.

Thanks, was using firefox but was able to watch it just now with out any problems. Maybe our game was just really popular on replay last night and they did not have enough bandwidth. Have to agree with everyone complaining about the referees. Have had a couple of guys on that crew a few years ago in NAIA and was not particularly impressed then, seems little has changed.

However, if your ISP does have espn3.com, you can sign up to get it even when you're away and using wireless in some hotel or something.
