I think this topic has been discussed in the past but I couldn't find the thread. I am seeking the expertise of the board. For the Butler game on Saturday, where will be the best place to park? How much does it cost to park near the ARC? Do the lots fill up quickly? I haven't parked a vehicle at VU in years and I would imagine there will be a ton of traffic on game day. Any help would be appreciated.

Heck, I'd be happy to know where it's good to park for a regular Valpo game!
I was in town for the PNC game, was early, and parked much further away than necessary (the general lot south-east of the old union). Though I didn't mind the walk across campus.
It's possible that I manage another game or two this season - so the info might be useful for me directly. Or, I'm generally curious. Never had to park for a game when I was a student!

I'm hoping they decide to do the shuttle thing again, like they did earlier this season.

There will be a shuttle again from the large lot off the corner of Roosevelt and Lincolway Ave (where there used to be a grocery store?). Parking and shuttle are free.

there's always the lot by the softball field, or (granted a little further away) the parking garage behind brandt if the gates are up (though that's doubtful.

I usually park in the Sig Tau lot at 801 Union Street even though its gravel and somewhat in disrepair (as is the house). A friendly group of chaps will greet you and if you throw them a few bones or perhaps Little Kings, they will even wash your car for you. Mention the name Fritz, Fussy or Elfman, and they will valet your car. Just don't expect to tailgate or use their restrooms.

I was thinking along similar lines in that if you are a member of a frat then just go to their lot and the brothers will of course honor an alum, right? The houses on Mound aren't more than a few blocks away, really none of the houses are very far.

Re the softball field lot, I guess that fills up for big games? But maybe not for all games? Parking garage! I'd completely forgotten about that.

Thanks everyone for the information. The shuttle seems like it's the thing to do, unless I can squeeze in at the old fraternity house. I hadn't even considered parking on Mound St.
I'll be sure to mention the name "Elfman" if I need to enter the Sig Tau lot as a failsafe.
