Not sure if this is legal or against the forum rules... I have 3 tickets for today's Butler game which we cannot attend. If anyone is interested....face value ($8 ea). These were purchased thru the 5 package. Mezz Blchr CC, Row PP, seats 17-19. If this is not allowed, I will immediately withdraw this and probably give them away. VU will not allow exchanges...already checked. Not wishing to make $$ on this, just let someone in the game. I will check back in an hour or so. lowposter

Just out of curiosity, did you try giving them back to Valpo? Not exchanging them, but just giving them back?
I know some groups (e.g. the Chicago Symphony) will let you give the tickets back to them, and then _they_ will re-sell them. Raises funds for an organization you like. And, in this case, let's more fans into the game.

No I didnt give them back. I called and asked for an exchange and was told they dont accept tickets back for exchange. Probably only going to make 2 out of the 5 games this year...I purchased tix before realizing what my other committments were. It just seemed a bit funny when I attempted to exchange tix earlier when I couldnt make the Milwaukee game. You have someone who is willing to GO TO A NON PURDUE OR BUTLER GAME and you turn them down. It doesnt make business sense. I wlll just pass next year on the 5 game plan and be more selective on games to attend. Anyway, this isnt intended to dampen a great game and a very productive season, but as a salesman we are trained to take care of the customer. lowposter

Yeah, that is a little funny. Presumably they could have easily resold them, and, as you say, would be happy to have you at some other game. It might net them +1 ticket sold over all (or however many tickets you had for the Butler game).
Maybe they're just not set up to cancel tickets that have been purchased? To make this work, they'd presumably require a way to cancel your tickets so that two people don't show up looking for the same seat.
I had similar questions about the Bracketbuster, when it looked like I might be in town for that game. I don't think _all_ the Butler tickets were sold on the two game plan, but I guess a lot of them were. I wondered if I'd end up with lousy reserved seats for the Bracketbuster, in a half-empty gym?

There's no way they can't cancel the tickets and reissue them. I have worked as a box office manager using much less sophisticated software than Valpo uses, and even we could cancel, print, refund, and reissue tickets, with bar codes and id numbers on the tickets. That being said, they may have a policy in place that tells them not to do it (many did, including us) because it's just not worth the time and effort AND then you have every Tom, Dick and Harry trying to exchange there tickets all the time. Can't...nope, won't...sure.

I find him to be very approachable and interested in what alumni and fans think about the programs.
