From the Butler board: chan wrote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to Brandon Gaudin's tweet, the team (Butler) is supposed to take a charter flight to Youngstown Wednesday afternoon at 4:30. Seems a little iffy at this point, but probably a lot more pleasant than a bus ride... Sitting here in Indy and seeing all the ice on the roads I'm not sure that Butler will get to Youngstown by Thursday evening. The Butler/Youngstown game may be cancelled. That would leave Valpo playing a fresh Penguin team Saturday night in Youngstown if Valpo can get their "large coach" from Cleveland to Youngstown on Thursday night.

after looking at the forecasts for ne ohio, if they make the drive friday, they should be fine. it's supposed to be sunny with highs in the low 30s. it's saturday evening and then the drive home that i'd be more worried about.

I was just making a joke about the "large coach" comment made earlier in the thread. Cleveland to Youngstown should not be too bad of a drive on Thursday night or Friday morning.

speaking of twitter..Do any of our players have one? I think it would be nice to show fan support and wish them good luck before games.

Report from Indianapolis International Airport. www.fox59.com/business/wxin-airport-delays-indianapolis-airport-running-on-limited-schedule-20110202,0,715352.story The Indianapolis airport is open Wednesday, on a limited schedule. According to an airport spokesperson, about 90% of flights were cancelled in the early morning hours but more flights were able to take off later.
"It costs $500,000 to clear each runway," said Susan Sillivan with the Indianapolis Airport Authority.
Chemicals to help clear the ice. One of three runways was open Wednesday morning but Sullivan said the airport hopes to open another by the end of the day.
It takes 20-30 minutes to de-ice aircraft which could cause delays. She estimates the airfield is covered with 3/4 to an inch of ice. There is still a chance Butler's private charter will make it to Youngstown this evening. As the Butler poster said it is "iffy."

Charter flight? Getting to that championship game must have upgraded the travel arrangements. Ed Here's a picture from Brandon Gaudin's twitter site that shows the Butler team boarding their charter flight that they took to Milwaukee. Yes, things can get rather comfortable when you go to the NCAA final game. twitpic.com/3mg286
