OK, you opened the thread... so you asked for it! Since the 1925 purchase of VU by the Lutheran University Association, we have played 2,172 games. Going into the Youngstate Game, we have... 1,086 wins and 1,086 losses. In those games we have scored, 141,837 points, and given up 141,291 points. A difference of 546 points (about 1/4th of point per game. Homer's won-loss record at VU (364-300) is a 54.82 Winning %. That ranks him 10th... he just passed Bill Purden (1970-76) who was 86-71 (54.78%). OH, if we lose to YST tonight, he drops back down to 11th place... Just KEEP WINNING!

Too much time on your hands jb. That is quite a stat. If you had said the points were equal, I would have questioned your arithmetic.

OK, so the "W" tonight helps the stats... want some more?
The Detroit game is the 350th game in the Athletics Recreation Center. VU is 241-108 at home. Over that same time span, we are 125-228 on the road and 60-46 in Neutral Court games.
more?
The upcoming game in the ARC against Loyola on February 24th will be the 1,000th game since VU turned to Division 1 in 1977. We have a record of 487 - 507; the points? 69,373 for VU; and 69,845 for the opposition (including tonights win)...difference of 472.
OH, in case you are curious, the 1995-96 game with Purdue is a VALPO "W", but the 53 points still count in the Valpo category and 74 in the opponents category.

Because we are talking about all things trivial about VU basketball, I have a question for you since tonight's YSU game went into OT.
Do you know if Valpo holds the NCAA D-I record for most OT games in a season with eight? I thought we at least tied the record in '92-'93.

VU went 4-4 in overtime games that season, tying them with Portland from 1983-84 (also went 4-4) and Western Kentucky from 1977-78 (went 5-3)
